Mescaline
Mescaline is the active ingredient in both the Peyote and Huachuca / San Pedro cactus.
Both were used ceremonially for hundreds of years by certain indigenous peoples in North and South America. They are highly revered and considered powerful spiritual medicine.
1 cactus – 125 mg – mild dose
2-3 cactuses moderate dose
4-5 cactuses – strong/heroic dose
Typically in a ceremony, a person is served a moderate or strong dose initially. Then, after 2-3 hours, they are given the opportunity to re-dose to strengthen and/or extend their journey. The effects of 2 appropriately timed moderate doses typically lasts from 8-12 hours.
Please advise participants to do their research and journey safely. It is suggested to fast/not eat 4-6 hours prior to ceremony and stay hydrated. It is safe to eat once the medicine has digested after a few hours. Typically light food like fruit is recommended. Often peyote and Huachuca ceremonies are ended with a healthy meal and prayer.
Some ceremonies are held inside a teepee with a fire and some ceremonies are held in nature. In spaces that are safe and secluded where there is peace and privacy. Journeying in a group or having a trip sitter is advised or having some kind of plan in case support is needed
Peyote and Mescaline
The journey from mescaline is very long, with effects that can last for 8 to 12 hours or more. The visual experience is often characterized by vibrant, colorful patterns and a “glowing” quality to the world. The emotional state is typically euphoric, empathetic, and heart-opening. A common side effect, particularly with raw peyote, is a period of significant nausea during the onset.
